MELECON 2020 Organizing Committee is closely following the latest developments about the COVID-19 sanitary emergency. Please know that our thoughts are with those affected by COVID-19.
The health and well-being of our speakers, invited participants, and the seminary community is our first priority. After studying and evaluating the recent announcements, news, relevant National Departments guidelines and restrictions on travels and group gatherings, we are sorry to announce that MELECON 2020, scheduled to be held June 16-18, 2020 in Palermo, Italy will no longer be held there. An electronic virtual conference will be organised.
In order to accommodate our authors, MELECON2020 will be providing a platform for accepted authors to upload a presentation about their work. These presentations will then be available to all paid attendees and will allow accepted papers to be published in IEEE Xplore. More information on how attendees and presenting authors can upload and access these presentations will be available soon.
Registration fee will be reduced due to the cancellation of a face to face conference. You can find the new fees in the Registration section.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. The committee is working diligently with IEEE Meeting, Conference and Events team to develop the best course of action.

Publication of post-Conference papers:
- Pending approval: Extended version of papers presented at the conference may be submitted for Publication on a Special Issue of IEEE Access entitled: Smart Technology for Society and Industry - best articles from IEEE MELECON 2020 and IEEE RTSI 2020 conferences. Submission instruction will be given later.
- Extended version of papers presented at the conference, which fall within the scope of the IEEE Industry Application Society (Technical Sponsor of IEEE Melecon 2020) may be submitted to the IEEE Transaction on Industry Application for publication. IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications is the peer-reviewed IAS ‘journal of record’ and all papers presented in IAS Transactions have previously been presented at a technical conference.
